FRED DURST Denies He Expected AVRIL LAVIGNE To Bang Him

June 15, 2004

LIMP BIZKIT frontman Fred Durst has told an Illinois radio station that Avril Lavigne was "making shit up" when she toldRolling Stone magazine that Fred "took took a private jet out to one of my shows, expecting me to bang him" after an initial meeting at MTV's "mtvICON: Metallica" tribute concert.

Speaking to Rolling Stone last month, Lavigne said about Fred, "[Backstage at the METALLICA tribute] I mentioned to Fred that I was hungry — like, 'I want an In-N-Out burger'. He had someone go out and get me a whole box of them, with fries. I was like [sarcastically], 'Yeah!' Then he took a private jet out to one of my shows, expecting me to bang him. He was disappointed that I wouldn't even go near him [laughs]. He was a little pissed that I went to my room alone that night."

Asked to respond to Avril's comments, Fred told The Stone Age of Illinois' WWCT Rock 96.5 FM, "Maybe she's in denial. I don't really know her, but I guess she's cooler than I thought since she can just get on and make up some shit and talk shit, so.. maybe she's as cool as everyone else out there.

"It's kind of weird…," he added. "I'm sure I'll bump into her somewhere sometime. Some skate-punk party."

Durst's entire interview with WWCT can be downloaded in two parts from The Stone Age's web site: Part#1, Part#2.
